Covering an area of 1.6 acres, the horse has a length of 318 feet, and a height of 220 feet. It dates back to 1857, and its white appearance is due to limestone uncovered by the removal of topsoil. On a clear day, it can be seen from Leeds over a stretch of 28 miles.

Was it
really?

The angel of the North, a steel sculpture overlooking the A1 and A167 roads running through
Gateshead.

The elusive little European robin, much smaller and perkier than the North American robin. They will NOT sit still long enough for a good photo!

We made it! As we were coming up to the border, Uncle Rob tells me (Sarah) to get my passport out. Since I'm required to use my passport every time I go into the US, I didn't think twice. Of course, he cracks up laughing, since there isn't any border between England, Scotland and Wales. His only regret was that he didn't send me with my passport up to a square van with a sign displaying
Borders in the Scottish colors, on it. (It was a chip truck!!!)
lol. Oh, well. :)

We stopped to get pictures by the
Scotland sign welcoming us. An obliging man from Indiana, USA, was willing to take our picture... but squinted through the wrong hole.
LOL! How could we delete it!?!

The next picture he took was fantastic. Thank you! Aunt Lynda, Jenn, Uncle Rob and Sarah. (We're the Canadian/English division of the
Mafia.) On the other side of the boulder was the sign for England.

It's amazing what the high altitude will do to you!

Sarah overlooking the dales. Jenn as usual hiding behind the camera.

Two's company; the very best.
