Before the Throne of God Above

This song was written by Charitie Lees Smith from Dublin, Ireland back in 1863.
It's been put to newer music, and is one of my favorite hymns.

On my personal psychiatrist...

"I do not have a psychiatrist, and I do not want one,
for the simple reason that if he listened to me long enough,
he might become disturbed."

Jenn’s Christmas Flower Arrangements

DSCF6106
My very own beautiful arrangement for my room. Thanks Jenn, I love it! The worst part is I didn’t know it was for me, so I was critiquing it and telling her where to put the accent. Afterwards, she told me that she was about ready to pound me. LOL!

Finding the right light and setting, and focusing on just the right colour to bring out the vividness of the flowers proved to be quite the task.

Fuji Mums come with an encasing sleeve around the flower. After removal, the flower slowly relaxes into small plate-sized beauty.

Mom has an affection for redbirds. Go ahead, Aunt Jean, I know you’re just tingling with jealousy, but you can take satisfaction in the fact that this one doesn’t have the much sought-after tuft. Winking smile

With this many shades of red, it was especially hard to decide on which colour to focus the camera is order to show true light.

When thinking about what 2013 might hold, I'm glad I can't see into the future. Grateful that God will never lead me, where His grace can't keep me.

I Will Trust You, Lord ~ Proverbs 3:5-6

It’s funny how we do it; compartmentalize.
We plan for success and try to pass the pain right by,
But it just doesn't work that way, God has a different plan.
He works in ways we’d never see, beyond the scope of man.

When my heart begins to faint because I see a life so frayed,
And my soul cries out, “Oh Lord, how long can I keep this at bay?”
In the fiercest part of battle when my feet don’t want to stay,
I will trust You, LORD.

I may not understand it and even question ‘why?’
“What good could ever come from this?” has even crossed my mind.
But God’s teaching me to trust Him more as He works His will in me.
I rest securely in His care and surrender sure is sweet.

When the journey takes a detour unexpectedly,
And I try to accept and understand what it all means.
When I’m pressed to show the world what I really believe,
I will trust You, LORD, with my life.
