On Friday, October 8th', we met with our cousins, John, Liz and Sally,
and they took us touring through York.

Jenn and Sarah walking through the Shambles.
It's really neat to be able to look through old postcards of the Shambles
and realize that we were actually there.

Tempting signs

We didn't want to pay the price for admission,
but were able to go so far into York Minster.
The architecture was amazing! Here is one of many burial vaults.
Following are some examples of the interior of the Minster.

Can't remember what John was explaining to us :)

John sings(?) as Liz, Sally and Sarah look on, lol

We look so small in comparision

Such intricate detail

Trying to give an idea of the height

Love some of these names!

History comes alive

Jenn was fascinated with this armour shop

The Lord Mayour's House.
The neat thing is that we have a card from Great Aunt Dora from a few Christmases back
with this exact same house depicted in a painting.

Delicious English chocolate icecream:
It was cold, but the chocolate was way too tempting.

Can't say I condone this practice,
but it was too funny to miss!

Jenn seemed to enjoy the idea of us all being locked away.
(John, Sarah and Liz behind the door leading to the top of the walls.)

A Little Something

(Note the scaffolding used to repair the Minster)

John pretending he was pushed off the wall

Sarah measureing a sword in the museum in the wall

Can't remember what this was... an icebox?
